RIYADH, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi Ministry of Energy said a terrorist attack on Monday caused a fire in a fuel tank in the north of the port city Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

At 3:50 a.m. local time (1250 GMT), a projectile created an explosion and caused the fuel tank fire at the petroleum products distribution terminal, the ministry said in a statement.

The fire had been put out with no casualties reported, the statement added, noting Saudi Aramco's fuel supplies were not affected.

Acts of terrorism and sabotage against vital installations, including the recent attack near the floating offloading platform in Jizan and previous attacks on oil installations in Abqaiq and Khurais, target the security and stability of global energy supplies as well as the global economy, the ministry warned.

Meanwhile, Turki Al Maliki, spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen, accused Yemen's Houthi rebels of being behind the attack.

Most of the Houthis' hostile acts were foiled by the coalition, according to the spokesman. Enditem
