DAMASCUS, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Eight people were killed on Tuesday by two explosions that rocked areas controlled by the Turkey-backed rebels in northern Syria, a war monitor reported.
Three people were killed and 16 others wounded in an explosion by a car bomb near a bakery in the city of Afrin, which is controlled by the Turkish forces and Turkey-backed rebels in the countryside of the northern province of Aleppo, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Another explosion, also caused by a car bomb, rocked the rebel-held city of al-Bab in Aleppo countryside, killing five and wounding 19 others, the Britain-based watchdog added.
No party has claimed responsibility for the bombings.
Afrin had been controlled by the Kurdish militias before Turkey and Turkey-backed rebels captured it in 2018.
It is worth noting that the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Turkey-backed rebels have been pitted against each other in northern Syria.
Earlier in the day, the SDF ambushed Turkey-backed rebels in the northern province of Raqqa, killing 21 of them, according to the Observatory. Enditem
