SHIJIAZHUANG, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- An ancient tomb dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907) was discovered in Lincheng County, north China's Hebei Province, according to the local cultural relics protection department.

A tombstone and some pottery pieces were found at the site. The tombstone features an embossed rabbit and an inscription consisting of 209 Chinese characters recording the name, birthplace and other information of the individual who was buried inside, according to Suo Lixia, director of the department.

The burial objects are all pottery and include bowls and animals. Some of the objects were damaged when they were unearthed.

The discovery has provided valuable materials for the study of funeral and social customs at that time, said Suo. Enditem
