ROME, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Juventus continued its shaky performance in the Serie A campaign as the Bianconeri was held 1-1 by the newly-promoted Benevento on Saturday, while Inter Milan enjoyed a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Sassuolo.

Juventus rested talisman Cristiano Ronaldo for Saturday's game as Alvaro Morata partnered Paulo Dybala up front.

The defending champions found the net in the 21st minute as Federico Chiesa's cross-field pass found Morata; the Spaniard shook off his marker to place a daisy-cutter.

Benevento, managed by former Juve star Filippo Inzaghi, scored the leveler before the interval as Arthur Melo's clearance turned into an assist for Gaetano Letizia to hit a volley.

Juve dominated the second half but lacked the cutting edge to restore the lead while Morata saw red for dissent after the whistle.

The tie, coupled with Inter's victory, dropped Juve to fifth place with 17 points.

With just 35 percent possession, Inter bounced back from the Champions League defeat by snapping up Sassuolo's unbeaten run.

The Nerazzurri was up by two goals just 15 minutes into the game thanks to Alexis Sanchez's opener and Vlad Chiriches' own goal.

Roberto Gagliardini sealed the victory with a stunning right-footed volley on the hour mark.

Inter moves level Sassuolo with 18 points in the table but ranks the second on goal difference.

Also on Saturday, Hellas Verona won 2-0 away to Atalanta. Enditem
