PARIS, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- A French patrol ship has rescued 45 migrants, including a pregnant woman and children, who were crossing the English Channel on a boat, said the Maritime Prefecture for the English Channel and the North Sea on Sunday.
At the time of rescue on Saturday evening, the boat had run into difficulties off the coast of the Leffrinckoucke commune in northern France, as several migrants appeared to be hypothermic, the French authorities said in a statement, adding that the migrants were then being taken good care of.
France and Britain signed a new deal on Saturday to curb illegal migration across the English Channel, with such measures as an increase in the number of patrollers on French beaches and employment of drones and radar. Enditem
