Debris of Indian Navy's jet located, pilot still missing

NEW DELHI, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Debris of the MiG-29k trainer aircraft that crashed in the Arabian Sea on Thursday has been located, an Indian Navy (IN) official said on Sunday.

The jet had crashed into the sea off the southern state of Goa. While one pilot was rescued, the other is still missing.

"Some debris of the aircraft including landing gear, turbo charger, fuel tank engine and wing engine cowling have been located," said a statement issued by the IN.

It said that the IN's search and rescue efforts to locate the missing pilot continues with extensive deployment of naval ships and aircraft.

In addition to nine warships and 14 aircraft engaged in the search efforts, the IN's Fast Interceptor Craft are also deployed to search waters along the coast.

Furthermore, the Marine/Coastal police are on the lookout and nearby fishing villages have been sensitized, added the IN statement. Enditem
