BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Xiangshan Forum plans to hold workshops on Dec. 1 and 2 in Beijing, the organizers said on Monday.

With the theme "Enhancing International Cooperation: Responding to New International Security Challenges," the event consists of four panels: security situation in the Asia-Pacific, global strategic stability toward the future, international cooperation in non-traditional security, and trends of major power relations, they said.

Experts and scholars from 12 countries, including the United States, Russia and India, are expected to attend.

The workshops are being held despite the postponement of the full 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, which was due to be held this year but was postponed because of COVID-19.

The workshops will be run as a hybrid event, both online and offline, to accommodate the need to prevent and control COVID-19, according to the organizers.

Initiated in 2006, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum is a high-level security-and-defense platform dedicated to promoting exchanges and cooperation among defense authorities, armed forces, international organizations and scholars. Enditem
