PHNOM PENH, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia provided more than 1 million face masks and other medical facilities to Timor-Leste on Wednesday to help fight against the COVID-19, Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said.

Hun Sen wrote on his official Facebook page that Ouch Borith, minister attached to the prime minister and foreign ministry's standing secretary of state, brought the donation to Timor-Leste via a special flight on Wednesday morning.

The donation included 1 million face masks, 10,000 N-95 masks, 10,000 goggles, 10,000 sets of personal protective equipment, 250 hand-held temperature scanners, and 10 sets of ventilator machines for Intensive Care Units, he said.

Speaking to reporters at the Phnom Penh international airport before the departure, Borith said Timor-Leste was the third country that had received the donation from Cambodia after Laos and Myanmar.

"This is a humanitarian act that we share with our friendly countries in such a difficult time," he said, adding that the donation also showed "solidarity and collective effort" to fight against the COVID-19. Enditem
