KIEV, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- For the first time, a military exercise will take place in Ukraine, during which the Ukrainian air defense system will try to intercept the U.S. MQ-9 Reaper attack drones on the western border of the country, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Wednesday.
"The purpose of the training is to exchange experience in the air defense field, in particular, to conduct practical training on tracking, target capture and imitation of the destruction of the MQ-9 Reaper," acting commander of the West Air Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Karpenko said.
The MQ-9 Reaper is a remotely piloted medium-altitude, long endurance (MALE) aircraft designed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR), and attack missions. Enditem
