BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

STOCKHOLM -- Sweden reported 35 new COVID-19 deaths on Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 7,007, the country's Public Health Agency reported.

The country recorded 6,485 new cases during the same period.

ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia will launch a campaign to test at least one member of each household in its capital city here for the COVID-19 virus, the country's State Emergency Commission said Thursday.

The campaign dubbed "One Citizen-One Household" is expected to last from Dec. 4 to 11.

JAKARTA -- Indonesia's Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah was confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19, the Manpower Ministry's spokesman Soes Hindharno said here Thursday.

"The test result shows that (the minister) is COVID-19 positive but she is physically healthy, meaning she has no fever, nothing to worry, Hindharno told Antara news agency by phone.

MADRID -- As of Thursday morning, Spain reported 9,331 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 1,665,775, the country's health ministry reported.

Meanwhile, 273 more COVID-19 deaths were recorded, taking the country's death toll from the disease to 45,784, it said.

TOKYO -- The confirmed COVID-19 cases in Japan increased by 2,501 to reach 155,952 as of Thursday night, according to the latest figures from the health ministry and local authorities.

The figure excludes the 712 cases from the Diamond Princess cruise ship that was quarantined in Yokohama near Tokyo earlier in the year.

MINSK -- Belarus reported 1,701 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking its total to 141,609, the country's health ministry reported.

So far, 1,181 people have died of the disease in the country, including seven over the past 24 hours, it said.

KABUL -- Afghanistan on Thursday reported 276 new confirmed COVID-19 cases after health authorities conducted 2,379 tests in the past 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 47,256, including 8,113 active cases.

The Ministry of Public Health said that 1,841 deaths from the corona virus epidemic have been reported since the outbreak of COVID-19 in February in the country, an increase of 19 in the past 24 hours.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported 90 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, taking its total tally to 6,589.
