German shares go down slightly at start of trading

BERLIN, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were down slightly at the start of trading on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index losing 22.25 points, or 0.17 percent, opening at 13,230.61 points.

The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was building materials company HeidelbergCement, increasing by 1.20 percent, followed by online food delivery company Delivery Hero with 0.95 percent and pharmaceutical and chemical company Bayer with 0.69 percent.

Shares of RWE fell by 1.15 percent. The German energy company was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Friday.

New orders for German manufacturers in October increased by 2.9 percent compared with the previous month, the Federal Statistical Office announced on Friday.

The yield on German ten-year bonds went down 0.014 percentage points to minus 0.561 percent, and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.2146 U.S. dollars, decreasing by 0.01 percent on Friday morning. Enditem
