BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese coast guard authority has dismantled more than 10 major criminal gangs engaged in illegal sea-related activities in the past three years.

China's coast guards at all levels have launched campaigns and investigated more than 190 tip-offs, arresting more than 140 suspects, said the authority.

To better collect tip-offs and crack down on crimes, the coast guards made full use of the emergency hotline 95110, set up a report mailbox and offered rewards for the reporting of organized crimes.

They have also cooperated with public security, fishery and maritime affairs authorities. Enditem
