Tanzania's national parks watchdog wins European Award for Best Practices 2020

DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) has been awarded the Gold European Award for Best Practices 2020 by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), TANAPA said in a statement on Friday.

The statement signed by Pascal Shelutete, TANAPA's senior assistant conservation commissioner for communications, said the award organized annually by ESQR recognizes organizations, companies, public administrations and individuals with the best practices and results in quality management strategies.

"This award is a result of TANAPA's robust organization strategies in conserving the national parks' resources and implementing quality service delivery standards," said the statement.

"The award will be used as a catalyst for strengthening efforts towards sustainable conservation of national parks, marketing and enhancing tourism services," said Shelutete.

The statement said Tanzania's ambassador to Belgium, Jestas Nyamanga, will officially receive the award next week in the Belgian capital Brussels on behalf of TANAPA.

State-run TANAPA is responsible for the management and conservation of Tanzania's 22 national parks. Enditem
