RAMALLAH, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Palestine condemned on Friday an Israeli settler's attempt to burn down the Gethsemane Church in East Jerusalem, an official report said.
"The attempt to burn the church in Jerusalem is a terrible terrorist attack," the state-run news agency WAFA quoted the Palestinian Presidency as saying.
The statement called on the international community to ensure protection of the Palestinian people and the holy Islamic and Christian sites, places, and shrines in the Palestinian territories.
In a press statement, the Israeli police said a 49-year-old Israeli settler was arrested for an arson incident at a church in East Jerusalem. Enditem
