BRATISLAVA, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The 19th round of the Slovak ice-hockey premiership saw league-leaders Poprad battle it out against the regional rivals Kosice 6-5 in overtime on Friday.

Slovan Bratislava saw its winning streak broken as it lost 4-1 to Dukla Trencin and Liptovsky Mikulas gained its second point of the season by beating Banska Bystrica 4-3 in OT.

Patrik Svitana crowned Poprad's tying effort by scoring with 20 seconds left on the clock and pushed the game into overtime where the rallying efforts of the league leader were completed by Lukas Handlovsky, who scored the golden goal one minute into OT, helping his team stay on top of the standings.

The most surprising outcome of the 19th round was the clash between Trencin and Bratislava.

The home teams' fourth victory in a row ended Bratislava's five-game winning streak and moved it up one spot in the rankings to ninth.

Nitra is one point behind Poprad in the standings after defeating Nove Zamky 5-3 in the fight between the second and third team.

Elsewhere, Zvolen used Nove Zamky's defeat to grab third place after overcoming Michalovce 4-1. Enditem
