HOHHOT, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Gao Song's game-high 23 points helped Sichuan defeat Shanghai 76-67, while Inner Mongolia smash Tianjin 103-45 to grab an 11-game winning streak in the 12th round of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) league here on Saturday.
The game between Sichuan and Shanghai was in balance in the first quarter, but Sichuan established a 46-38 lead after the second period.
Both teams showcased their attacking power in the second half. Shanghai mounted pressure on Sichuan in the last quarter, but was not good enough to come back.
Sichuan forward Gao Song scored 23 points, shooting 10 of 18, while her teammate Zhang Wanglai contributed 15 points to the victory.
Inner Mongolia established a 24-15 lead after the first quarter, before extending its half-time advantage to 16 points. Tianjin could not find any rhythm in the second half. Inner Mongolia reached the top of the table after sealing the victory in the last quarter.
Yang Liwei pocketed a game-high 23 points and five assists for Inner Mongolia, and her teammates Li Yueru and Zhang Qifang bagged 16 and 12 points respectively.
Also on Saturday, Wu Tongtong's 30 points powered Shanxi to a 64-59 victory over Beijing.
The WCBA's 12th round continues on Sunday. Xinjiang will face Henan, while Dongguan takes on Fujian. Enditem
