ZHUJI, China, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Gao Shiyan recorded a career-high 35 points, 17 assists and seven rebounds to give the Shandong Heroes a 111-105 victory over the Jiangsu Dragons in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season here on Monday.
Gao opened the scoring with a three-pointer to pace Shandong for a 9-0 start. Jiang Weize helped Jilin end the first period 28-27, and built a 6-point lead before the halftime break.
In the third period, an all-Chinese squad delivered a 33-20 scoring run to help Shandong usurp the lead. Shandong ended the game with a 6-point lead, despite Jilin's good performance.
Lester Hudson scored only four points while Manny Harris rested for the game. Tao Hanlin added 28 points and 15 rebounds.
"The win was a result of collective teamwork. Our domestic players stepped forward with the absence of overseas players. Gao did a great job," said Shandong coach Gong Xiaobin.
"I should say we need to be much tougher on the court," said Jilin coach Wang Han. Enditem
