GENEVA, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The FIBA women's world rankings have been updated after the conclusion of the November window of the Women's EuroBasket 2021 qualifiers, with Belgium climbing to the sixth place.

Belgium claimed victories over Ukraine and Portugal in qualifiers, becoming the first team to qualify for the final round of EuroBasket 2021.

With 598.3 points, Belgium is also edging closer to fifth-ranked France (640). After being overtaken by Belgium and dropping to seventh, Turkey (596.4) is the only other mover in the top 10.

The top 10 teams, in order, are the United States, Australia, Spain, Canada, France, Belgium, Turkey, Serbia, China and Japan.

"Due to the suspension of FIBA competitions, an adjustment was made to the algorithm for the rankings by extending the expiration date of past results by eight months in order to ensure that results from two Olympic Games are included in the calculations, which weigh data from the past eight years," said basketball's global governing body.
