COPENHAGEN, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Denmark's FC Midtjylland and English champions Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw in Denmark on Wednesday, in their final UEFA Champions League Group D match.
With Liverpool already assured of progression to the next stage as group winners, and Midtjylland knowing they would finish bottom regardless of the result, there was little at stake, though Liverpool took a first-minute lead when Mohamed Salah poked home.
Midtjylland equalized in the second half when defender Alexander Scholz stepped up to convert a penalty.
