BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD), the country's football regulator will provide financial aid to local clubs impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, NFABD president Haji Matusin said.

"Despite the COVID-19 outbreak, FIFA has approved financial assistance to every member association because of the impact of the pandemic," the NFABD president was quoted as saying by local daily the Borneo Bulletin on Saturday.

"NFABD will subsidize its members, that is, the clubs for the losses that they have incurred or may have incurred over the lost opportunities that could have come their way," he added.

According to the president, NFABD's financial help will cover local football clubs, district football associations, grassroots and other members within NFABD.

He said that NFABD members must record what they have spent their assistance on so that NFABD can report back to FIFA. Enditem
