STOCKHOLM, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Perrine Laffont and Benjamin Cavet claimed moguls victories for France at the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup in Idre Fjall, Sweden on Saturday.

Following her victory in Ruka, Finland last weekend, Laffont once again showed her domination in moguls, achieving the highest score in the first round of the finals, before doing it again with a final score of 82.53 points in the best-of-6 round for her third straight victory dating back to last season.

Second place went to Anri Kawamura of Japan, who had a remarkable second-place finish at her World Cup debut in Ruka, with a score of 80.61 points.

American skier Hannah Soar rounded out the podium with 78.63 points.

Laffont leads the women's moguls standings after two events with 200 points. Jaelin Kauf of the United States sits second with 125 points, followed by Kawamura with 112 points.

Cavet won the men's category with 83.71 points through his tremendous run.

"We trained a lot in France and then we came here to Idre in the fall so I know this course well, but it still feels good to get some revenge from Ruka last week," said Cavet.

As Mikael Kingsbury is sidelined for at least the first three competitions of the season through injury, fierce competition is anticipated for the 2020/21 moguls crystal globe.

Returning to competition this season after recovering from an ACL injury, Brodie Summers of Australia claimed second place with 81.84 points.

Nick Page of the United States placed third with 81.28 points, in what was the 18-year-old skier's first career World Cup podium.

Japan's Ikuma Horishima is leading the way in the men's rankings with 140 points, followed by Summers on 120 and Cavet with 118.

The Freestyle Ski World Cup action in Idre Fjall continues on Sunday with the first dual moguls event of the season. Enditem
