BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- One imported confirmed case of COVID-19 was newly reported in Beijing on Monday, the municipal health commission said Tuesday.
The patient was a 27-year-old Chinese national, who arrived at the Beijing Capital International Airport from Hong Kong on Nov. 28 and tested negative for the coronavirus at airport customs.
On Dec. 12, he ended customs quarantine and left for a hotel in Chaoyang District of Beijing. He started to show symptoms of fever and diarrhea on the next day. On Dec. 14, he went to hospital and underwent a nucleic acid test. The result was positive for the coronavirus.
The municipal authorities have carried out epidemiological investigation, and disinfected the hotel and other places where the man had visited and implemented epidemic control measures.
No new locally transmitted confirmed, asymptomatic, or suspected COVID-19 cases were reported in Beijing on Monday, according to the health commission. Enditem
