JERUSALEM, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Israel and Sweden have signed an agreement on boosting technological and scientific research cooperation, Israel's Ministry of Science and Technology said on Tuesday.

The deal was signed by the Israeli ministry and the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF).

It includes areas of marine, aerospace, industrial technologies, storage and conversion of water and energy, molecular biology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, software, communications and internet, autonomous vehicles, advanced sensor materials, electronics, and eco-friendly materials.

Besides strengthening scientific and technological cooperation, the agreement provides the first framework for promoting and supporting ideas and researches by both governments, the Israeli ministry noted.

As part of the agreement, the parties will discuss every two years the areas of interest for joint activities.

Founded in 1994 by the Swedish government, SSF supports researches in science, engineering and medicine for the purpose of strengthening Sweden's future competitiveness. Enditem
