GUATEMALA CITY, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Rescue teams were working on Tuesday to recover the bodies of 10 people, all belonging to the same family, who died in a vehicle accident Monday night.
The incident took place in the town of Tajumulco, in the department of San Marcos (southwest), when the pick-up truck they were traveling in plunged into a ravine about 150 meters deep.
The mayor of the town, Eliseo Chavez, told Xinhua firefighters and local residents were working since morning to recover the bodies, but have so far been able to retrieve only eight.
According to the mayor, the family was returning from Christmas shopping. Enditem
