KUNMING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Seven black storks were spotted at the Qinghuahai National Wetland Park in the city of Baoshan, southwest China's Yunnan Province, this week.

A Class-A protected wildlife in China, the black stork is estimated at around 3,000 worldwide in population.

The wetland park first reported observing the species in 2019.

Baoshan has launched conservation projects for the protection and restoration of wetland resources in recent years, attracting more than 20,000 migratory birds to the park in winter.

The number of bird species in the park has increased from 172 in 2016 to 279 now, of which three species are under the national first-class protection and 29 are under the second-class protection. Enditem
