BOGOTA, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Colombia reported 9,594 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the nationwide tally to 1,594,497, health authorities said on Sunday.
Meanwhile, 228 more deaths were reported, raising the nationwide death toll to 42,171, the authorities said, adding that 1,455,975 people have so far recovered from the disease.
Colombian President Ivan Duque has extended the health emergency for COVID-19 until Feb. 28, 2021, and adopted measures to help reactivate the economy. Enditem
