Brunei reports no new COVID-19 cases for 21 straight days

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday with the national tally of cases standing at 152.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, there are no active cases in the country and the total number of recovered cases remains at 149.

It also marked the 21st consecutive day without new cases since Dec. 8, when the country recorded an imported case from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A total of 11 imported cases have been confirmed since the last local infection case was reported on May 6. At present, Brunei has recorded 237 days without COVID-19 local infection case.

Meanwhile, currently 573 individuals who arrived in the country after traveling abroad are undergoing mandatory isolation at the monitoring centers provided by the government.

There have been three deaths that resulted from COVID-19 in Brunei. Enditem
