JERUSALEM, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi denounced on Thursday the riots at the U.S. Capitol building.
"I was shocked to see the attack on the American Congress," Ashkenazi said in a statement issued by his office. "It must be strongly condemned."
He expressed confidence that "the American people and their representatives will know how to rebuff this attack."
U.S. media reported that at least four people died in Washington amidst clashes that broke out as supporters of outgoing U.S. President Donald Trump stormed into the Capitol and halted the Electoral College vote counting. Enditem
