Beijing, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- China on Sunday issued a white paper on the country's international development cooperation.

The white paper, titled "China's International Development Cooperation in the New Era," was released by the State Council Information Office.

Consisting of eight chapters, a preface and a conclusion, the white paper expounded on China's views on international development cooperation in the new era, the actions it has taken, and its plans for the future.

China always renders assistance to the best of its ability to countries in need, and contributes its strength to tackling major global challenges and improving the global governance system, the white paper noted.

The white paper also said China's international development cooperation in the new era has been guided by the vision of a global community of shared future.

Since the start of COVID-19 outbreak, China has provided anti-virus assistance to over 150 countries and nine international organizations, and sent 36 medical teams to 34 countries in need.

China pledges to make vaccines a global public good for the greater good of humanity.

China was the first country to be hit by COVID-19 and the first to bring it under control. Now, it is injecting impetus into global recovery with its proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai last November. The import expo better connects China and the wider world with partners joining hands and sharing opportunities.
