With six players scoring double-digits, the Tianjin Pioneers beat the Fujian Sturgeons 117-113 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Tuesday.
Robert Golden scored a game-high 48 points while Wang Zhelin made 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Fujian but couldn't prevent their side from suffering their five consecutive defeats.
Tianjin's Meng Zikai scored a team-high 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds, D'Montre Edwards collected a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Lin Tingqian added 23 points.
"I was really pleased with the guts we showed," Tianjin head coach Liu Tie said after the match.
Fujian had a good start with a 37-24 lead in the first quarter and held a double-digit lead until the end of the second quarter.
With Edwards and Lin making continuous hits, Tianjin led on a 15-0 run and reversed the lead 80-74 before the final quarter and secured the victory.
Fujian will next encounter the Nanjing Monkey Kings, while Tianjin is to face the Beijing Royal Fighters. Enditem
