KABUL, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- A total of 77 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number in the country to 54,672, the Public Health Ministry said on Sunday.
The ministry also said eight patients died over the period, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 2,386 since the breakout of the pandemic in the country in February 2020.
A total of 335 patients have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of recovered one to 47,298 in Afghanistan, the ministry added. Enditem
