JERUSALEM, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Israel's Ministry of Health on Sunday reported first five cases of the new COVID-19 strain that was detected in Los Angeles and in other multiple counties throughout the U.S. state of California.
The ministry also reported five new cases of the new COVID-19 strain that was detected in South Africa and other countries.
These are five people who have recently returned from South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, the ministry noted.
This brings the total number of patients tested positive for COVID-19 variants in Israel to 185. Enditem
