Vietnam records 1 new COVID-19 case, 1,549 in total

HANOI, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing its total tally to 1,549 with 35 deaths, according to its Ministry of Health.

The new case is a 47-year-old Vietnamese woman who recently returned from abroad and was quarantined upon arrival.

The ministry also announced that 14 more patients have been given the all-clear, raising the total number of recoveries to 1,425.

Meanwhile, nearly 20,900 people are being quarantined and monitored, the ministry said.

The country has gone through 55 consecutive days without any new COVID-19 cases in the community, according to the ministry. Enditem
