MOSCOW, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Russia registered 17,741 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the first time since Oct. 29 that the daily increase was below 18,000, the country's COVID-19 response center said Wednesday.
The national tally has thus increased to 3,774,672, with 71,076 deaths and 3,202,483 recoveries, the center said.
Moscow, Russia's worst-hit region, reported 1,837 new cases, down from 2,317 the previous day, taking the city's total to 919,662.
More than 100.3 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted across the country.
Those from high-risk groups have been receiving COVID-19 vaccination since early December, and the entire Russian population have been receiving the jab since last week. Enditem
