JERUSALEM, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Anti-aircraft missiles were launched at an Israeli drone while it was flying over southern Lebanon on Wednesday, the Israeli military said.
An Israeli army spokesperson said that the incident occurred during "routine military UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) activity over Lebanon."
The missiles were "fired toward the UAV," the spokesperson said, adding that "the aircraft was not hit and continued its mission as planned."
Lebanese media reported that Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Lebanese armed group and political party, fired a missile toward the aircraft while it was flying over southern Lebanon.
Earlier this week, Hezbollah said it shot down a drone in southern Lebanon. Enditem
