BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The highly anticipated 2021 Spring Festival Gala produced by China Media Group has reached a record 1.27 billion viewers around the globe, surpassing last year's 1.23 billion.
Viewers who watched the gala through streaming services totaled 734 million, or 128 million more than last year, according to figures released by the Chinese broadcaster.
This year's show has been aired by more than 600 media outlets in over 170 countries and regions, including TV and radio stations as well as new media platforms in the United States, France and Germany, noted the media group, citing statistics.
Among the highlights of new technology applications of the gala, the broadcaster said, an 8K UHD (ultra-high definition) TV trial channel was used for the first time in the live broadcast. Enditem
