SANTIAGO, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Chilean Ministry of Health reported 4,208 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Sunday, with the country closing the week with a trend of more than 4,000 daily cases.
This is the fourth consecutive day that Chile has reported at least 4,000 daily cases of COVID-19 as the country has seen a large amount of internal mobility due to the holidays.
Additionally, the "hybrid" school year will begin soon, with schools engaging in both in-person and online classes, the Chilean government announced this week.
With the new cases, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 825,625, and among them, 24,106 are in the active stage.
According to the health ministry, another 96 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 20,572. Enditem
