LONDON, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- John Higgins swept Ronnie O'Sullivan 10-3 to clinch the title at the Snooker Players Championship in Milton Keynes, England on Sunday.

Higgins, 45, scored three centuries in the one-sided final. The veteran took the 31st ranking title of his career at the price of O'Sullivan missing his 38th ranking victory.

"It's the best week of my snooker career. I have won bigger tournaments, but in terms of the way I have played and felt the whole week, it's my best ever," Higgins told the World Snooker Tour website.

In the tournament played between the top 16 players on a one-year ranking list, Higgins beat Jordan Brown, Mark Selby, and Kyren Wilson before playing the Rocket in the final and only lost one frame in the first three matches.

Six-time world champion O'Sullivan defeated China's top player Ding Junhui, Jack Lisowski, and Barry Hawkins to meet Higgins, but lost his second final in eight days.

O'Sullivan was upset by world number 81 Jordan Brown 9-8 at the Welsh Snooker Open last Sunday. Enditem
