Myanmar reports 11 new COVID-19 cases

YANGON, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar recorded 11 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing its total tally to 142,034, according to its health ministry.

No new death from the coronavirus epidemic was recorded on Sunday with the COVID-19 related death toll remaining unchanged at 3,200, the ministry said in a release.

According to the ministry's figures, a total of 131,672 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 2.5 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far in the Asian country.

A total of 1,549 samples were tested for COVID-19 on Sunday, down from around 10,000 samples tested daily in the first week of last month.

Myanmar reported its first two confirmed cases of COVID-19 on March 23 last year. Enditem
