NEW YORK, March 7 (Xinhua) -- New York City's latest COVID-19 test positivity rate on a seven-day average reached 6.39 percent, compared with 6.34 percent one day earlier, Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted on Sunday.

Meanwhile, de Blasio said that there were 203 new hospital admissions and new cases of the coronavirus were 3,183, adding that "Each day we're one day closer to the end of this fight. Don't give up now."

Celebrating a new vaccination site in The Bronx borough Saturday afternoon, the mayor reiterated that the city's goal is to fully vaccinate 5 million New Yorkers by June.

"Bronx is going to help lead the way, lead the way in the recovery of New York City," he said, adding that the number of New Yorkers already vaccinated was over 3 million.
