BRATISLAVA, March 14 (Xinhua) -- After 22 rounds of the regular season, Slovakia's top-flight soccer league Fortuna Liga split into two halves on Sunday.

The top six teams are now fighting for the championship title and also spots in the Champions and Europa Leagues. The rest will have to fight off relegation, as the bottom side will be relegated to the second division automatically and the second to last team will fight with the second-placed team of the second division for a spot in next season's Fortuna Liga.

In the championship group, leaders SK Slovan Bratislava started the postseason with a blast, destroying AS Trencin 6-2. Moroccan striker Moha's two goals within the first 30 minutes of play put Slovan ahead but Trencin managed to even up the score before half-time. In the second half, the reigning champions left nothing to chance and scored four more to demolish Trencin.

The Fortuna Liga's most prolific player Zsolt Kalmar scored his 13th goal of the season in the 74th minute to take FC DAC 1904 Dunajska Streda into the lead against Zlate Moravce, after his long-range effort found the back of the visitors' net. His Venezuelan teammate Eric Ramirez set the final score to 2-0 for Dunajska Streda with a header.

The duel between MSK Zilina and FC Spartak Trnava produced a crazy finish. Trnava's 18-year-old defender Lukas Jendrek was shown the red card on his Fortuna Liga debut and in the final seconds of extra-time, Trnava's Czech midfielder Filip Twardzik redirected Tibor Slebodnik's long-range effort into his own goal, enabling Zilina to triumph 2-1.

In the extremely even relegation group, SKF Sered managed to put an end to a series of three defeats and moved to the top of the standings after edging out MFK Ruzomberok 1-0.

After four rounds without a victory, Pohronie managed to break the spell and prepared a bitter 3-0 defeat for FK Senica, sending it to the bottom of the standings. Czech striker Ondrej Chveja opened the score in the second half with his first goal since joining Pohronie in January.

In Michalovce, FC Nitra was the more active of the two teams and produced several solid scoring chances but failed to capitalize on any of them. The visitors did not give up and their efforts were crowned in the 91st minute from a corner, where the ball found its way into Michalovce's net after bouncing off one of the players, making the final score 1-1.
