Kuwait reports 1,394 new COVID-19 cases, 215,067 in total

KUWAIT CITY, March 18 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti Health Ministry reported on Thursday 1,394 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 215,067.

The ministry also announced eight more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,202, while the tally of recoveries rose by 1,276 to 199,549. A total of 14,316 coronavirus patients are receiving treatment, including 222 in ICU.

Abdullah Al-Bader, assistant undersecretary for medicine affairs in the ministry, said on Thursday that a new batch of coronavirus vaccines will arrive in the country on March 21.

Kuwait has imposed a partial curfew from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting March 7 until April 8, as part of its efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Non-Kuwaitis are prevented from entering the country. Enditem
