Israel, Bulgaria win titles at Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Sofia

SOFIA, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Linoy Ashram of Israel and the group of Bulgaria won the all-around titles at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup here on Saturday evening.

In the individual all-around event, Ashram gained 98.450 points, closely followed by Boryana Kaleyn of Bulgaria with 98.250, while Alina Harnasko of Belarus took the bronze with 96.150.

The hosts lifted the title with 84.350 points in the all-around group, followed by Azerbaijan with 70.950 and Japan with 70.650.

As many as 60 individual gymnasts and 11 groups from 35 countries and regions participate in the first FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in more than a year.

The competition ending on Sunday with the apparatus finals serves as an Olympic qualifier for individual gymnasts, along with the World Cups to come in Tashkent of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan's Baku and Pesaro in Italy. Enditem
