BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- China has released a provisional guideline to clarify the rules on building, maintaining and managing road assets.
Road assets include not only land used as roads, but also infrastructure and facilities such as bridges, tunnels, as well as safety barriers, according to the guideline jointly released by the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport.
Transport authorities should calculate road assets as per the national accounting systems, the guideline said, calling for regular account checking in the process of road asset management.
Road maintenance departments should incorporate the work on road asset management into their monthly and annual reports on state-owned assets, and be responsible for the authenticity of such content.
The guideline also urged finance and transport authorities to launch targeted regulation of road assets to ensure timely updates on financial information. Enditem
