MONTEVIDEO, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Former Malaga and Rayo Vallecano forward Sebastian Fernandez has joined Uruguay's Liverpool for the rest of the 2021 season, the Montevideo club said on Friday.
The 35-year-old arrives as a free agent, having parted ways with Club Nacional in December.
Liverpool announced the signing in a brief message on social media, without providing contract details.
Uruguay's 16-team Primera Division season is scheduled to begin on April 24.
Fernandez has been capped 14 times for Uruguay and was a part of the Celeste team that reached the semifinals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Enditem
