LONDON, April 8 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.83 percent, or 56.90 points, to close at 6,942.22 points.
Experian, an Irish-domiciled multinational consumer credit reporting company, soared 4.38 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Sage Group and AVEVA Group increased by 4.10 percent and 3.99 percent, respectively.
Aviva, a British multinational insurance company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.09 percent.
