WUHAN, April 23 (Xinhua) -- "A Dream Like a Dream," an epic theatrical production by acclaimed American-born Chinese playwright and director Stan Lai, kicked off its national tour Thursday in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province.
The performance staged in the city was a special event for those who worked on the frontline during the fight against COVID-19 as a tribute to their heroic deeds.
During the eight-hour play, more than 100 characters travel through time and space and unfold interwoven stories about the search for the true meaning of life, presenting the audience with a dream-like, immersive experience.
The play will be staged in other cities including Qingdao, Chengdu, Changsha, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Zhengzhou and Beijing. ■
