Morocco, Mauritania pledge to deepen bilateral ties

RABAT, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Morocco's Prime Minister Saad Dine El Otmani received on Monday in Rabat Mauritanian Foreign Minister Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, with both sides pledging to foster cooperation and promote bilateral ties.

Morocco will work with Mauritania to promote cooperation in such fields as education, economy, trade and investment, El Otmani told reporters after the talks, according to official news agency MAP.

For his part, Ahmed expressed the hope that the High Joint Commission, chaired by the heads of government of both countries, will be held soon to push forward important cooperation projects.

Ahmed was received earlier by his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita. The two ministers decided to convene in the near future the High Joint Commission in order to develop economic ties, said MAP. Enditem
