10 more die of COVID-19, bringing Cambodia's death toll to 252

PHNOM PENH, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's death toll from COVID-19 surged to 252 on Saturday after 10 new fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a statement.

The Southeast Asian nation also registered 538 new cases, taking the national caseload to 33,613 so far, the statement said, adding that the new infections included 509 local cases and 29 imported cases.

Meanwhile, the kingdom also saw 1,053 patients recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 26,078, it added.

The country began a COVID-19 inoculation drive on Feb 10. MoH's secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine said that so far, more than 2.7 million out of the 10 million targeted population have already been vaccinated. Enditem
