BEIJING, June 5 (Xinhua) -- China's box office is expected to see a highly competitive Dragon Boat Festival holiday, with more than a dozen titles scheduled for release around the three-day holiday, which starts June 12.

June 11, a Friday, is set to see the release of 10 new films, according to a release calendar unveiled by film data platforms Maoyan and Beacon. The calendar is subject to change as the holiday draws closer.

Among the films set for release are Japanese animated fantasy "Hello World," Chinese comedy "Sunny Sisters," and U.S. animated adventure "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway."

The same day will also see the Chinese mainland theatrical debut of the award-winning Italian film "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso."

June 12, according to Maoyan, will see seven films open in theaters -- all domestic productions, including sports comedy "Never Stop," crime thriller "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" and romantic comedy "Wu Hai."

The coming days may see some films in the holiday's box office lineup choose to delay their release plans to avoid immediate competition.
